Um, well... This is kinda awkward.

The company I was going to join as a sponsor duelist, after I graduated? They sorta, ah... Got bought up and are shutting down next month.

They said that due to the buying up, the costs of my tuition were covered, but... that really leaves me in an awkward spot.

Well LDS has been on a firestorm of acquisitions lately. A friend of mine lost her business to them buying out only a couple years ago.

What was your former sponsor's chief product line, out of curiosity.

It was just electronics manufacturing-- monitors, televisions, computers. They wanted a dueling sponsor though since it tends to generate a lot of positive publicity and income for them.

My friend was mostly a multimedia company with ties to various TV networks and advertising agencies. It's possible they're just diversifying.

But a glance over at their acquisitions shows some that don't make any sense.

One of their hostile takeovers was of a small flower and herb company in Japan that only shortly before being acquired opened offices in Singapore and Thailand.

Another was a British firm that made transistors for microchips in drones and tanks.

... That said, I'd offer a job but I have a pretty full suite of Duelists I'm backing at the moment. Apologies, Shinji-kun.

It's fine. I'm sure I'll... Think of something, at least. Thanks for at least the thought of it.

But really, it's troublesome that this is happening... I mean, it's not that I really wanted to work for them, but I'd have liked much more of a warning before this happened...

Well at least the tuition is still covered but, I can imagine how awkward this is for you, especially with you graduating soon too.

It's very awkward. I have nothing planned as a back-up, and I can't afford college or something on my own...

I guess the only thing you can do for now is either see if another company will sponsor you or just take up a regular job until you figure things out.

I think it's going to have to be the latter. Sponsorship deals take quite a while to work out, and me going with this company would've been essentially an accelerated position.

Well, I don't mind helping you look for work, or help you in trying to figure out what you'd like to do instead.

I'd appreciate help. I need at least... something. I might be able to convince my parents to send some money for the first few months so I can move somewhere, but...

I'll try and keep an eye and ear out for places that might be hiring and if you want, we can meet up and try and brainstorm other ideas.
