... Well, I sure feel painful. I'm also in a hospital. Domino hospital.

Guess I should've seen that coming.

*As Shinji said, he's in the hospital, confined to his bed. He seems a little out of it, if you go and see him, but that's understandable. He looks like some giant creature went ahead and stepped on him repeatedly.

At the current moment, he's staring up at the ceiling, thinking. Worrying. ... Perhaps expecting something.*

Yeah, I remember. I was... Distracting the creature. I had managed to for a bit, but... Someone was giving it orders. A girl that was at the top of the creature's head.

I managed to shoot her down with a fireball, using Laval Forest Sprite's power, but when I went to check and see who it was, there was this odd... Talking book with arms and legs there, berating her while she was unconscious. They deflected my attempt to attack and went to give orders to the creature instead.

After that... I guess I must've angered the creature too much, cause it managed to snap free of that harness, and crushed me. And then...

*he looks down at the card*

I never really... Had wanted to risk bonding with it.

Doing so probably saved your life. Though I can understand your hesitance to do so. It's incredibly high level and with a divine attribute... that puts it on par with the Egyptian God cards.

*She looks at him curiously.*

I know. Doing it was probably the only reason why I'm not in a worse state, right now.

The library. It's a part of them. The name "Akashia"... It's named for the "Akashic records". A compendium of mystical knowledge. In some interpretations of the Akashic records, it's a place where all human thoughts and actions are compiled, from the past to the present.

I'm very certain... They've been trying to reach out to me, through the dreams. Because I wouldn't take any risks with them. Because I wouldn't accept whatever it may grant me.

Do you think that now you have bonded with it, the dreams may stop?

*looking up at the ceiling again, sighing*

I think they won't stop, no.

I mean... I guess I should be thankful, to whatever exists through the card. Thanks to it... I'd probably not be able to talk right now, otherwise. But... I didn't really accept it, did I? So the dreams are likely to continue, until I do.

*he falls silent for a moment*

What was it like?

Your appearance was... dark and whenever you used an attack or defended yourself, there were these glowing lines that appeared on you.

You used an electric attack on the wind monster and you were able to deal a lot of damage to it. You were able to protect yourself from it too, though it was weakened at that point.

*She pauses, looking down.*

When the monster was obviously defeated, it looked like you were going to attack it again and that's when Juudai and I stepped in.

... Sorry. That must've... Really worried you. That I was doing that. That I acted like I would've kept going with that.

I don't actually clearly remember what happened during the point. It was like... I was looking outside at my actions, more than anything. So I sorta recall being able to do that, but... not quite.

I think they talked during it, though...?

You spoke a language I don't think I've heard before.

Probably the same kind I was hearing in my dream, recently... The one that sounded like I shouldn't understand it, but did despite it.

I'm likely to be in the hospital at least. For a few days. The doctor... Really wants to make sure I'm fine, since I should've been in a worse state than I ended up in, with how I looked.

I wonder if my parents will try to come visit.

They should know I'm here, at least. The doctor said they'd have to contact them to make sure my medical records were in order, and since I'm a minor, as well.

That and, well... I do need to tell them I need a new pair of glasses, now. *rubs a little around his eyes.*

We're at least in a stable spot, so they should be able to take time to come visit. ... Hopefully. *it's not a tone of not expecting them to come. it's a tone of "I really hope I'm not being a big burden on them".*

You've never talked much about your parents actually... what do they do?

Mm... My mom's an office worker. My dad works as a camera man for a television station.

They're... alright. A little strict. They always made the idea of earning what you want and need out of your own ability, important to me.

They sound like they care for you and want you to do your best, so I'm sure they'll take the time to visit.

What are you going to tell them happened if they do visit though? I guess "I was crushed by a large monster" wouldn't exactly be the best thing to tell them...

That's... admittedly something I'm dreading.

The doctor here kinda understood what happened, because it's a little bit more normal, now. But I don't know if they'd believe it, unless if they saw it with their own eyes.

And if they believe it, they'd probably wonder if it's really best for me to stay here, or take my chances back home.

Hm... it is a difficult thing to explain to those who don't really understand the city and what can happen here...

... and I guess saying you were hit by a car would be a bit fishy since they'd expect more injuries. Though, there have been people lucky enough to walk away almost unscathed by such events in the past. I think it depends on how fast the car was going and where it hits...

... I guess I could always try the truth, you know. My dad... He isn't "normal", so he might understand it enough, that things like this could happen.

Ah, that's true. He is a part of your family too, so I guess he would know a little about how odd things can be.

The truth is always the best way to go. Though... I guess I can't really say anything on that. I spent a good majority of the time at the duel academy hiding a lot of things about myself from the other students... and all it ever did was make things worse.

Sometimes, it's sorta unavoidable. There's no way to guess how people will react to anything.

Not that I'm the best example of honesty, either, since I'm hiding what I can do from most people, but... My parents at least do deserve to know what's going on, even if it's hard.
